St. Patrick's Day Fun

Before heading off to the parade, we had lunch at the Market downtown.  It was great seeing Lauren for a quick minute!
Pretty artwork downtown
Bryan Tate, the Grand Marshal, dancing a little jig....hehe.  Not really, he just looks like he is in this picture!

Talk about surreal....as I was standing in downtown York, PA, I glanced up at the tv and saw that basketball from Greensboro, NC was on tv.  I volunteered at this very place for the US Figure Skating Champtionships in 2011 and have gone to numerous events at this venue over the last couple years while in NC!

Love the bartender's fun green hair!!

St. Patrick's Day fashion green glory  ;)

For some reason, one can not order shamrock shakes by walking through the drive-thru in York, PA.  However, this can be done in Indiana, PA.  Just sayin'.

Silly pup!
On Sunday, which was actually St. Patrick's Day, I drove from York back to NC.  On the way, however, I met up with my parents at the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg, MD.  What a fantastic homily Fr. gave on Confession and how beautiful the building and grounds were!!  We certainly enjoyed our personal tour afterwards as well and are eager to go back when we have more time to explore and learn more about St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Relics!
Check out the date of when she was blessed......exactly 50 years to the day from when we visited!!

After mass, we spontaneously went to confession before enjoying a quick personal tour from a tour guide.  We will definitely be returning for more stories and to learn more about the life and work of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton!

This image goes along with some of the reflections I had while visiting the Shrine on St. Patrick's Day just two days shy of the feast day of St. Joseph.

The following Tuesday, my sister-in-law and I attended Theology on Tap in High Point.  What a fun St. Patrick's Day week I had from PA to MD to NC!  ;-)
