When reading The Friendship Project on virtues and saints, I learned about faith friends. Faith friends hold you accountable, help you to grow in your spiritual life, and accompany you on your journey.
When reading this particular passage from Romans, the idea of faith friends kept coming up for me. Paul speaks of how he constantly kept the people he was writing to in his prayers. He wanted to be able to share some sort of spiritual gift to help them be strong during adversity. I love the line about being mutually encouraging to one another through each other's faith. Isn't that we all want for our friendships and relationships? To be a source of support and to help build one another up through seeing the dignity of one another? Lord, please bring healing and mend your people's broken hearts.
Perhaps, in the upcoming week, you can reach out to a friend and let him or her know you are thinking of and praying for him/her. Don't let obstacles hold you back and persist like Paul did!
