Last trip of Summer 2015

A couple weekends ago, Adam and I hopped on a plane to fly to Boston on a Saturday night and were back in Ohio by mid Monday morning.  Talk about a quick turnaround!!!

The original intent of the trip had been for us four kids to surprise my parents in Massachusetts while they were visiting with my Aunt Maureen.  Unfortunately, Dad fell ill and was scheduled for surgery the week following the trip so they were unable to go to New England.  However, us kids had nonrefundable hotel tickets, and in our case plane tickets, so we opted to still go through with the trip.  It was bittersweet as we had been looking forward to gathering together as a family and surprising the parental units but we still wanted to enjoy the time with each other.  Of course, any time the niece and nephews are all together, it's hard to not smile.

Adam and I flew Jetblue for the first time and ironically wore matching blue shirts that were not intentional nor planned.  Aunt Maureen and Laura picked us up from the airport and brought us to our hotel where we connected with Patrick just days after he had come to see me in Ohio!  The next morning we found Mark, Liz, and their two boys at breakfast in the hotel and then saw Brian, Alisha, and their four kiddos.  After eating, we all caravanned over to St. George's where Laura played the piano for that Sunday morning mass.  The last time Adam and I saw in those pews was when we were up there in April to finish out our pre-Cana sessions with Fr. Jack!  Now, here we were sitting as man and wife with my niece and her dolly joining us.  Haha!

After mass, we all headed over to Laura's house where we enjoyed an outdoor BBQ, swimming, skyping with my parents, playing badminton, and just enjoying the sunshine.  A late night return to the hotel prompted Adam, Patrick, and me to fall asleep quickly before our 6/7am wakeup time for Patrick to drop us off at the airport.  We were home by mid morning so that Adam could get straight to work.  Whew!!  We don't have any more trips planned for the immediate future which is good since school starts up so soon.  I am sure Adam especially could use a break from all the travel due to having the back to back Atlanta work trip and quick Boston trip!

Adam's origami birds were a hit with the kiddos.  I also appear to have caught Braden in mid-sneeze in this photo!

Getting ready to go outside and swim!

Silly Clark!

Nicholas dressed the part but never did make it in the pool if memory serves me correctly.  He certainly enjoyed playing with his toy train though!

Thomas joined his cousins in the water!

The dolphin float was everyone's favorite!

For some reason throwing the floats into the water (and thereby splashing folks sitting by the pool---ahem) was more fun than actually swimming.   =)

Oh Mason!  ; )  This was right before Fr. Jack surprised us with a quick visit!

Benjamin was all giggles!

Badminton and cleaning of the pool...

Mason hard at work coloring at "her table".
Benjamin helping Mommy to color.  ; )
I sure missed my parents but it was nice to have a lazy Sunday with my brothers...and sisters-in-law and kids...and Aunt Maureen & Laura....and my hubby!  <3

Getting ready to leave for the night!  Thanks Aunt Maureen and Laura for a fun trip in spite of the circumstances!!
